What We Do

The FireSafe Council of Greater Julian is involved in a number of activities in support of our mission statement. Below are a few:

  • We recently finished the CWPP Community Wildfire Protection Plan which was signed by Bill Horn, District Supervisor. The CWPP is a collaborative effort developed by interested stakeholders of the community. The plan identifies and prioritizes areas for hazardous fuel reduction treatments and recommends types and methods of treatment that will protect the Greater Julian area. The plan recommends measures to reduce ignitabilty of structures throughout the area identified in the plan.

  • Community Protection and Evacuation Plans (CPEP)
  • We are looking for a grant to pay for private roads signs. There are a lot of private roads that are not properly marked.
